 Benidorm Spain

Benidorm Spain

Benidorm is part of Spain’s Costa Blanca region, one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. It is found north east of Alicante (around 45 kilometers’ drive) and is south of the Altea.

Benidorm’s beaches and cosmopolitan atmosphere (it has a skyscraper skyline that looks stunning at night) makes it famous for swimming by day, partying by night. And not even winter can dampen this paradise. Enclosed by mountains that stand up to 1558 metres high, Benidorm is shielded against the sometimes cold north winds. Thus, the weather is never harsh, and continues to be a favorite winter escape.

In the summer, Benidorm transforms into one big party place. It has over a thousand restaurants, over thirty discos and bars. This is the night life that attracts thousands of visitors a year. They flock to the hotels, which have a total of over 35,000 beds. Or they rent out the apartments and other alternative vacation accommodations (numbering over 200,000). Some tourists have fallen in love with the place so much they actually bought their own properties there, and it has a flourishing British and Irish community.

THE ATTRACTIONS

There are many things to see in Benidorm. One of them is the Casco Antiguo, which is the historical part of the city. The key features of this place are the streets of the San Lorenzo, Santa Fez and San Vicente Streets.

Of course the beaches continue to be the biggest selling point of Benidorm. You can enjoy the sun and sea at the Playa de Poniente Beach, which lies next to the main road of the city. It is not very quiet (because of the traffic on the road) but it is very accessible and near the shops. If you want something more serene and relaxing then you should go to the Playa de Levante.

Don’t forget the Benidorm golf courses, the theme parks, and family attractions like Terra Mitica, Mundomar and Aqualandia. These places all sorts of activities and games that the kids will enjoy.

GETTING AROUND

If you plan to explore Benidorm and the surrounding areas of Costa Blanca and Altea, you should rent a car. There are nearly two dozen car rental companies in Benidorm alone, or you can book a car at the airport.

The public transportation system includes cabs and buses. You can take the shuttle from the airport or tide the railway system to the Alicante’s downtown area. Another method of getting around is through the Benidorm Denia train.

 Discover Benidorm

Discover Benidorm

Benidorm is the ideal place to spend a vacation. Just think about how much fun you will have. You can relax on the beach, and get a golden tan. You can leisurely explore the charming resort towns. You can play an exciting game of golf. You can discover Spain’s rich history and culture. You can party till the wee hours of the morning. There is indeed something for everyone to enjoy in Benidorm and the surrounding Costa Blanca region, one of the most popular destinations in Spain.

Getting to Benidorm

To reach Benidorm, you need to book a flight that will take you to the Alicante Airport. While Spain has several entry points, this is one of the most convenient access areas since it is within the Costa Blanca region. From the airport, you can take a shuttle, a bus, a cab, or the railway. Some hotels also have a pick-up service. Other tourists prefer to rent a car which they can use for the duration of their trip.

Finding a Place to Stay

Because of Benidorm’s popularity, the city has developed a number of tourist accommodations: hotels, apartments, condos, and even private homes that the owners rent out when they are not in the area.

Hotels are a good place to go to if you want the full service deluxe: room service, amenities, and the pampering that comes with the perfect vacation. However, if you are on a budget, and are traveling in large groups, then you may want to get an apartment instead. It’s more affordable since you don’t have to pay for all those hotel rooms, and they’re not as strict about headcounts. You can also cook your own meals which will save you a lot on restaurant prices.

Investing in Benidorm Property

Many tourists go to Benidorm and are so enamored by it that they decide to buy a holiday home. They know they can always go back to their own place there, and they can earn from renting it out to other visitors when they are away. After all, with the constant influx of tourists, there will always be a demand for affordable vacation rentals.

 Planning your Benidorm Vacation

Benidorm Vacation

Are you thinking about visiting Benidorm? You are one of the thousands of people who visit this area of Spain a year. It is the most popular resort in Spain’s White Coast, called “Costa Blanca”. Known for its beaches, golf courses, and night life, it is one of the best places to spend your vacation. Get ready to party!

But wait.. there are some things you have to prepare in order to get the most out of your trip to Benidorm.

First of all, rent a car. Even if there is a lot to see in Benidorm, don’t miss out on the other attractions in the Costa Blanca region. Renting a car gives you mobility and freedom. You will find several car rental companies in the area, which you can contact through the web for maximum convenience. Be sure to shop for the best prices, and read the fine print. Look for hidden charges for things like insurance and mileage.

• Insurance. This is usually the largest fee that is left undisclosed. You should get insurance, just to give you coverage in case you meet an accident. Sometimes you can use your existing car insurance, but you have to call your provider to ask if the policy covers rentals. This can save you a lot of money. However, don’t try to cut corners and not get any insurance at all—it’s better to be safe than sorry!

• Mileage. Some car rental companies will charge you for how much you use the car. If you plan to travel around the area those miles will add up, and you may be surprised by the fee. Always clarify if you will be charged for extra miles. You should also ask if the quotation they give is a daily or weekly base rate and to check the fine print to determine what falls under your responsibility.

Second of all, make your hotel reservations ahead of time. Benidorm is a popular destination and you wouldn’t want to be caught without a place to go to, which can very well happen during peak seasons. Again, you can do this through the Internet. With the wide variety of accommodations you are sure to find something that suits your needs and budget, but you will have to start looking ahead of time so you aren’t forced to accept the first offer you can find.
